कुकुड़ा माई मंदिर उत्तराखण्ड के कुमाऊं के बागेश्वर जिले में स्थित है, जो 1400 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर बांज, बुराँश, काफल, देवदार और चीड़ के घने जंगलों के बीच में बना हुआ है। यह मंदिर मां दुर्गा की एक अवतार रूपी देवी कुकुड़ा माई को समर्पित है।
कहते हैं कि मां कुकुड़ा माई ने एक स्थानीय चरवाहे को एक स्वप्न में दिखाई दी और उन्हें अपनी भक्ति के प्रति प्रेरित करते हुए उन्हें यह संदेश दिया कि उन्हें अपनी उपासना के लिए मंदिर बनाना चाहिए। चरवाहे ने देवी की सीख पर चलते हुए मंदिर बनवाया, जो तब से ही विभिन्न हिस्सों से आने वाले भक्तों के लिए एक मुख्य पर्यटन स्थल बन गया है।
“Kukuda Mai Mandir” is a popular Hindu temple located in the town of Bageshwar in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. The temple is situated in dense forest of Bageshwar Himalayan range. Kukuda Mai temple is dedicated to the goddess Kukuda Mai, who is believed to be an incarnation of the goddess Durga.
History
Legend has it that the goddess Kukuda Mai appeared in a dream to a local shepherd and instructed him to build a temple in her honor. The shepherd followed the goddess’s instructions and built the temple, which has since become a popular pilgrimage site for devotees from all over India.
During the annual Kukuda Mai festival, which is celebrated in the month of April, thousands of devotees gather at the temple to offer prayers and seek blessings from the goddess. The festival is marked by vibrant processions, music, and dance, and is a colorful and joyous celebration of faith and devotion.
