From the 11th century the Hoysala Dynasty was in reign for 250 years. They constructed the architectural styles which differed from those which existed. The Hoysala Dynasty started to flourish on its own under the leadership of Vishnuvardhana which was also known as the name of Bittiga, he constructed stunning temples at Halebid and Belur during his reign. These temples have typical structures as they are built on some height in star and square shaped structure, it is situated on a platform to provide these temples with some height. As these temples is less in height, their factor of having less height is replaced with their mind blowing sculptures. The scheme of the temple has its repetition in two or three multiples.
Here is a sanctum and plinth in the shape of a star. A broad alleyway runs around the shrine on the outer surface for ceremony circumambulating. The (shikhara) tower was submissive by moldings and horizontal lines.
