Arunachal Pradesh is one of the sparingly populated states in India and is covered with 83743 sq. kms. The state got independent in political status on 20th January, 1972 and was further stated as a “Union Territory” for Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh has been derived from the Ita Fort and is located in the Papum Pare district. The fort is known for its plentiful History and significant importance. Arunachal Pradesh was ruled by the Ahom Dynasty back in between the 14th – 15th century. The ruin of the excavated fort is the major tourist attraction and is highly imposed for its irregular shape. The entire brickwork is comprised of about 16, 200 cubic length. It has got three gates sides on the Western, Southern and Eastern, which was built by the Ahom rulers.
