Itinerary

Deo Tibba Base Camp Trek

Day 1- Ride from Manali to Khanol village and trekking begins from Khanol Village to Chikka

  • This particular trek- Deo Tibba Base Camp trek commences from Khanol. One will have to reach Manali by morning.
  • From Manali, each trekker will be eligible for a ride directly to Khanol village, which is from where the trek begins -the starting point.
  • The path through which one trek on the initial day is completely packed with various types of berries and flowers.
  • Chikka is the first destination. It has the shape of a Snake. One will take around six to seven hours to make it to Chikka.
  • What awaits you at Chikka are the first surprises- the breathtaking sights of Deo Tibba and Indrasaan peaks and the Spiti valley.
  • Chikka also has a Naag Mandir that is quite famous.
  • After roaming around the place one can move to their respective camps for the night.

Day 2- Trek from Chikka to Seri

  • The second-day trekking would take you alongside the banks of Jagatsukh Nallah. One can seize the magnificent beauty of the Himalayan experience here.
  • Once you reach the radiant alpine woods that would rip off the lanes to a remarkable setting scattered with rocks and a flooring of silky grass and multi-colored wildflowers.
  • Once you leave behind this alpine forest, you will further climb up to reach the Seri meadows. This once upon a time was a glaciated lake, which is the reason why Seri is still called as Seri Taal. However, now it is a lush green meadow
  • It is packed with icy streams and dotted with an astonishing diversity of herbs and wildflowers with the elegant Tainta waterfall imminent in the background.
  • Stay overnight at the campsite which is set on the banks of the river

Day 3- Trek from Seri to Tainta

  • All the rivulets and the streams that you see across the path are the water bodies that add up to form the Jagatsukh Nallah. One will have to walk further ahead and cross them all, across the meadows of Seri.
  • You would further be lead to a steep climbing through the rocks, which is slightly adventurous but manageable.
  • This would further take you to a glaciated land and shares with you the first proper sights of the huge Deo Tibba and Indrasan.
  • The trek is not that long and the trekkers would get enough time to take rest as well as to acclimatize. This is important as mountain ranges and elevation can affect the human body in different ways.
  • Unwind yourself and halt for the night in the camps arranged.

Day 4- Trek from Tainta to Mini Chandratal and return to Tainta

  • Once you climb further uphill, alongside this glaciated land, one can reach the mini Chandra Tal. This is a bluish or rather greenish glacial lake located at the base of Deo Tibba
  • The lake is called so because of its shape. It is crescent in shape resembling Chandra or the moon
  • Varieties of multi-coloured wildflowers decorate the bank of the lake.
  • All along the way you traverse, the ice-covered Deo Tibba peak shines alongside the sunlit blue skies.
  • Lookout the high altitude lake with emerald blue water.
  • Also, observe the wildflowers that carpet the meadow beside the lake.
  • One has to return to Tainta later for Tainta would be the stopover for the night
  • Move to your respective tents to relax and sleep for the night

Day 5- Trek from Tainta to Chikka

  • Go back over your way passing through Seri, now that the return has finally begun.
  • The first halt while return would be at Dudu Pathar for lunch.
  • One can see beautiful meadows and apple orchards along this way
  • Climbing down is the easiest thing to do, and one can reach downhill by four to five hours
  • Like the other day, the halt will be at Chikka. Savour the beauty of the place since this would be the second last night and relax at your respective camps for the night.
  • A bonfire could be made and trip memories be shared

Day 6- Trek to Khanol Village and drive to Manali

  • The trek would now follow the same path you took in the beginning. One will get a ride back to Manali via Prini
  • If you like you can devote more time to Solang valley
