The 16-kilometers trek towards Beas Kund is a trip to find the origin of Beas River. The whole trip is fairly easy and not very adventurous. This is a perfect beginner’s site for trekking.

Itinerary 

Day 1: Trek from Old Manali to Solang Valley

After the ride to Old Manali from Manali, the trekking begins from Old Manali. The trekking is headed towards Solang Valley. There is a famous Manu temple on the way where people stops and seek blessings from. Manu according to Hindu is the creator of the world.

Solang valley is as beautiful as ever and has the scope for many adventure sports. IT is covered I a layer of snow most times of the year. Shanag and Burua are the two villages crossed during the process of trekking. Paragliding, Skiing, and Zorbing are some of the activities available at Solang valley. The first campsite is here itself, the sleep beneath the sky gazing at the stars at Solang is a rare opportunity that many can’t avail.

Day 2: Transfer to Dhundi- Beas Kund- Bakarthach – Solang

This is where the Beas Kund trek actually begins. We would cover a distance of 15kms and an altitude of 11,975 feet on this particular day. Trekking to Bakarthach is the first activity of the day. A long climb, you have to do it slowly. The uphill climbing would take you to the origin of the river that Is Beas Kund and back to Dhundi.

Trekking further uphill, one will start getting amazing sceneries. There comes a place where there is a heap of boulders. This is one of the best sites for photography in the entire trip. The slopes that are lush green could also be seen which has fir and spruce trees towards one side. Then comes the grasslands.

You can also see from a distance the glaciers and mountains. Further walking for around 4 hours would take you to the major destination/ Beas Kund is a bright blue lake with many streams originating from it. There are also many wildflowers carpeted along its bank. Hike down to Solang valley after spending ample time

Day 3: Solang Valley

This is the last and final day. The trip ends with breakfast. Trekkers can spend time at Solang valley for the adventure activities if interested. Solang valley is known for its adventure sports. It is known both for its summer and winter sports condition. The major activities that could be done from here are paragliding, parachuting, skating, and Zorbing. (One will have to bear the cost). This place is famous as a ski resort. A ropeway is also recently opened at the place adding to the fun. Horse riding options are also available. After spending as much time as one would like at the Solang valley, one can come back to Manali. Shopping, trying local cuisine, strolling around local markets are some of the possible activities here. There are buses from Manali to Delhi in the afternoon.
